Destination

When should you visit Seoul?

Seoul is a true four-season city, with cold winters, mild springs, hot and humid summers, and crisp autumns. Spring brings cherry blossoms and comfortable sightseeing, while July and August are the hottest and wettest months. April, May and October offer the strongest balance of weather and outdoor exploring, with October standing out for its mild temperatures, low humidity and autumn scenery.

My recommendation

October

October gives Seoul its best balance of comfortable days and lively nights. It’s a great month for long evenings moving between Korean restaurants, cafés, bars, shopping districts and Seoul’s neon-lit streets.

What to know before you book

Cherry blossoms

Late March–early April

Seoul’s cherry blossom season typically arrives in late March or early April. Parks, palace grounds and riverside areas become some of the city’s most atmospheric places to explore as the blossoms open.
Seoul After Dark

October–November

Seoul really comes alive after dark. Cooler evenings make it ideal for combining late-night Korean dining with bars, cafés, shopping and the city’s lively nightlife districts.

Travel tip

October is the sweet spot for exploring Seoul on foot, with mild temperatures and low humidity. If autumn scenery is a priority, late October into early November is especially rewarding.
