When should you visit Orlando?
The best time to visit Orlando is roughly January to early March, when temperatures are comfortable and rainfall is lower than in summer. The catch is that school holidays can push theme-park crowds and hotel prices sharply higher. September is the value play: hot and stormier, but usually quieter and cheaper. For a balance of weather and crowd levels, February is the cleanest pick.
My recommendation
February
February gives Orlando one of its best combinations of mild, relatively dry weather and manageable demand before the major spring-break and Easter periods. January is also strong, while late April and early May can work well after spring-break pressure eases.

Plan around
What to know before you book
- Spring Break
- School calendars vary, but March and early April can bring major demand across the theme parks. Hotel rates and wait times can rise sharply.
- Easter
- Easter is a major travel period for Orlando and can create significant crowd and price pressure.
- Summer thunderstorms
- Afternoon thunderstorms are common. They are often brief but can affect outdoor plans and theme-park schedules.
- Hurricane season
- Orlando is inland, but tropical systems can still bring heavy rain and wind. August–October is the more active part of the season.
- Halloween
- Theme parks run major Halloween programming, making the period attractive for fans but busier on event nights.
- Christmas / New Year
- One of Orlando's biggest demand peaks, especially around Christmas and New Year's.
